Lap time

How can we convince these puppies to lap? Mom doesn't feed them enough to begin with, and now they have baby teeth and she's sore and staying away. But most of the puppies are not lapping yet, and none can lap a full meal. We've been using milk replacer but today we're going to try soaked puppy kibble, too. The milk cools down basically instantly, and the puppies only believe warm things can be edible.
