Schools

We had the pleasure of visiting unique and wonderful schools on this trip. In Nagpur we went to Mayflower/Kasturba Gandhi school for students with disabilities. Our friend Kalyani's sister has been a teacher there for nearly 30 years! In fact, all the teachers we met have been there between 25-32 years (when the school was founded).

This is particularly impressive to me because the teachers are barely paid and can only teach there if their families support them. All the teachers and students were clearly, sincerely happy to be there. Shobha says on Sundays the students are sad because they don't have school.
